The
Ohio River reached flood stage at 23 feet, on the Upper Gauge this
morning. It was projected to crest at 24 feet on Wednesday
morning.
The
projection has been adjusted upward to 25.2 feet on Wednesday
morning. This is 1.2 feet higher than the previous prediction.
In light of
this upward adjustment, MSD will erect street closures at Tenth
and Main Streets and 27th Street at McAlpine Locks beginning
Wednesday Morning.
Currently,
MSD has placed flood pumping stations in service at:
- Buchanon
Street (Butchertown)
- Fourth
Street (Downtown)
- Western
(West Louisville)
- Upper Mill
Creek (Pleasure Ridge)
- Lower Mill
Creek (Pleasure Ridge)
- Riverport
(Pleasure Ridge)
- Pond Creek
(Valley Station).
The Riverport
and Pond Creek stations were brought on line on Monday night.
With
projected river elevations, water will affect traffic along River
Road, near Cox Park and the Fourth Street Wharf. Motorists are
urged to use alternate routes. |
