    The Metropolitan Sewer District will celebrate the dedication of the Robert J. Starkey Pumping Plant on Monday, September 12.
     
  • August 17, 2005
    Residents will see a rebate on their first Metropolitan Sewer District bills this fall because of drought conditions this summer, according to Mayor Jerry Abramson and MSD director, Bud Schardein.
     
  • June 14, 2005
    The 16th annual Ohio River Sweep is set for Saturday, June 18, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. More than 15,000 volunteers from Pittsburgh to Cairo, Illinois will pick up trash and debris along 1,800 miles of riverbank. Six states and 72 counties are represented.
     
  • April 25, 2005
    MSD has reached a comprehensive agreement with federal and state agencies on a consent decree that will address sewer overflows on MSD’s wastewater system.
     
  • January 14, 2005
    The Ohio River crested Wednesday and as of noon today the river is 27.1 feet on the Upper Gauge and 58 on the Lower Gauge. At noon on Saturday, it is projected to be at 26.3 feet on the Upper Gauge and 57.1 on the Lower Gauge; and on Sunday at noon the Upper Gauge is projected to be at 25.4 and the Lower Gauge is projected to be at 56.0.
     
  • January 11, 2005
    The Ohio River reached 27.9 feet, on the Upper Gauge this morning. It is projected to crest at 28.4 feet on Wednesday.
     
  • January 7, 2005
    The Ohio River reached reach flood stage at 23 feet, on the Upper Gauge this morning. It was projected to crest at 26 feet on Wednesday.

    The projection has been adjusted upward to 27.8 feet on Wednesday afternoon. This is 1.8 feet higher than the previous prediction.
     

  • January 5, 2005
    The Ohio River is projected to reach flood stage at 23 feet, on the Upper Gauge on Friday afternoon. It is projected to crest at 24 feet on Tuesday, January 11.
