  • December 18, 2008
    The National Weather Service is predicting between one and three inches of rain from early Tuesday A.M. hours through early Wednesday A.M. hours. This is due to a large, low-pressure system building from the gulf and colder air approaching from the northwest.
  • December 1, 2008
    By any economic account, we are now in the worst economic downturn in decades. National unemployment numbers are approaching eight percent. Our local Metro Government is facing a projected $20 million budget shortfall, due primarily to lost payroll taxes. In other words, many of our fellow citizens are out of work or working greatly reduced hours.
  • November 18, 2008
    The Volkswagon that was recently found in Beargrass Creek near Butchertown and featured in the Courier-Journal on November 4 is scheduled to be removed Thursday, November 20. Work is to begin at 9:00 A.M. and should be completed by the end of the day. The vehicle is located in Beargrass Creek behind Eye Dia, 1631 North Mellwood Avenue.
  • November 17, 2008
    Catch basins and street gutter drains carry stormwater away from our homes and streets when it rains. If grates become covered with leaves, twigs, grass clippings and other debris, catch basins and drains cannot function property. Covered or clogged grates and drains contribute to street and yard flooding.
  • October 16, 2008
    On October 14, an MSD crew was working at 6505 Montego Bay Road. The crew consisted of John Matthews, Jeremy Pierson and Kenny Gibson.

    While unloading their tools, they heard screams from a woman close by. The woman was running from her home with an 18-month old baby in her arms. Both Kenny and Jeremy ran to the woman and they found the baby choking and gasping for breath.
  • September 29, 2008
    MSD has been marketing organic fertilizer under the brand name, Louisville Green, since 2005. Currently, 82 tons of the fertilizer is produced daily and sold to customers in eleven states.
  • June 17, 2008
    The 19th annual Ohio River Sweep is set for Saturday, June 21, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. More than 15,000 volunteers from Pittsburgh to Cairo, Illinois will pick up trash and debris along 1,800 miles of riverbank. Six states and 72 counties are represented.

    MSD Celebrates Achievements of the Morris Forman Wastewater Treatment Plant.
  • April 4, 2008
    A very slow moving low pressure system moved into the Louisville Metro area at approximately 8:00A.M. Thursday morning.
  • March 18, 2008
    Floodwall Closures - The Ohio River is predicted to reach 25.3 feet, on the Upper Gauge and 55.9 on the Lower Gauge by Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 8:00 A.M.
