Meeting Summary
- Mr. Schardein reported on the Calendar
of Events
- Mr. Schardein recognized the MSD
employees listed in a complimentary letter from Colonel Robert White of
the Louisville Metro Police Department commending them for their efforts
to locate missing Cezar Ivan Aguilar-Cano last June.
- Mr. Schardein read an email Mayor
Abramson received from a local businessman commending all who assisted
with the snow and ice removal during the recent weather events.
- Mr. Schardein recognized the 2008 Adult
Black Achievers: Sharise Horne, Issac Johnson, Noble Marks. A special
recognition was given to Rick Watkins for being named 2008 Adult
Achiever of the Year.
- Mr. Schardein announced MSD’s
sponsorship of the Living Lands and Waters initiative. This program
organizes and participates in clean-ups for Louisville and the Ohio
River boundaries. Living Lands and Waters is a joint effort between
Jefferson County Public Schools and Metro Parks. An Extreme Clean-up is
scheduled for March 15th. Twenty locations have been identified and Mr.
Schardein has asked MSD employees to plan to assist in the effort that
will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
