April 28, 2008 Board Meeting Summary

Mr. Schardein announced the state recognition awards that Angela Akridge and Saeed Assef received for their contributions to the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers.

Mr. Schardein read letters received from Ford’s UAW Teamsters Union Truck Plant complimenting MSD’s Board and staff for their efforts to support Ford Motor Company. Recently, MSD’s Board approved revised procurement guidelines to give advantage to purchases made from local companies. This change resulted in MSD’s purchase of 49 Ford vehicles.
