July 28, 2008 Board Meeting Summary

Mr. Schardein reported on the Calendar of Events and highlighted MSD’s Kentucky State Fair Sponsorship. The sponsorship includes a booth and exhibit, which will feature an educational theme on MSD’s Infrastructure. Mr. Schardein invited Board members to attend if their schedule permits.

Additionally, Mr. Schardein reminded Board members of Derek Guthrie’s retirement celebration on Thursday, July 31, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Mr. Schardein called on Mr. Novak to announce the recognition of awards received by MFWTP, Hite Creek and West County. Each received Operational Excellence awards from the Kentucky/Tennessee Water Environment Association. MSD also received the Biosolids Beneficial Reuse award. Mr. Schardein commended Mr. Novak and Mr. Thomasson (in his absence) and their staff for a job well done.
