Certification Benefits

  Apply to become certified

DiverseWorks is essentially about building relationships. MSD seeks minority- and woman-owned suppliers with demonstrated abilities in customer response, dependable delivery of goods and services, and adaptability to change. MSD staff mentors and trains certified businesses to facilitate their growth and development.

Certified businesses working with MSD gain exposure to development opportunities and technological transfer. Access to our staff, information, equipment and field training are added benefits of working with MSD and our prime contractors.

Every year, MSD budgets approximately $60 million for construction projects, $30 million for professional services and $10 million for material purchases and other service-related contracts. MSD's Board has committed to contracting or subcontracting a minimum of 15 percent with certified minority-owned businesses, and a minimum of six percent with certified woman-owned businesses.

Becoming a certified minority- or woman-owned business gives your company a competitive edge. Many businesses seek partnerships with minorities and women, whose growing numbers make up a significant portion of their customer bases.
