ClasSickles, Inc.

Former MSD employee Tony Sickles began his company in 1992 with the encouragement of other MSD staff. Providing land-surveying services through MSD prime consultants, Tony's firm won subcontracts on MSD projects.

Business opportunities with MSD gave the company a base to expand services, helping it grow from two employees to 12. In 1996, Tony re-incorporated the company as ClasSickle, Inc. and began providing civil engineering services, landscape architecture, planning and site development and bioengineering design services. "The relationships between our firm, MSD and prime consultants have been key in the success of our company," says Tony. "The support, mentoring and guidance we received were instrumental to our growth."

Averaging 30 to 45 employees annually, ClasSickle is the fourth largest minority employer in Louisville, according to Business First, Louisville's business weekly. In 1999 the company was awarded the Zenith Award, the most prestigious honor presented to a Kentuckiana Minority Supplier Development Council certified and affiliate member.

Additionally, Tony was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as Minority Small Business Person of 1999.

Along with MSD, ClasSickle clients include Gresham, Smith and Partners, The Corradino Group, U.S. Postal Service, Thornton's Oil and Stephen C. Gault Company.
