The Louisville/Jefferson County Information Consortium (LOJIC) represents a multi-agency effort to build and maintain a comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) to serve all of Louisville and Jefferson County, Kentucky. Present LOJIC participants include the Louisville Metro Government, Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD), the Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) and the Louisville Water Company. All participants are sharing the cost and effort involved in the full development and successful implementation of LOJIC.

Physical details of the mapping range from the contours which show the level of the surface of the ground above sea level to individual trees, from buildings of every size to individual utility poles, and from major wastewater treatment plants to individual manholes and catch basins.

The system can also show planning and zoning information and assessed valuation of individual properties, as well as other information expressed in words rather than in pictures.  This information can be linked to individual features on the maps.
