Green Lights Government Partner Of The Year!

At the 1998 Energy Star Awards Ceremony, the Environmental Protection Agency recognized MSD for making great strides in implementing and communicating energy efficiency through their involvement in the Energy Star Programs.

MSD enjoys the lowest overall electric rates in the country — less than four cents per kilowatt hour.   However, through the Green Lights partnership, MSD reduced its energy consumption by more than 2 million kilowatt hours, totaling an annual savings of $85,362.   Additionally, MSD's annual efforts prevent the release of over 5.6 million pounds of carbon dioxide and 28,400 pounds of sulfur dioxide — emissions linked to global climate change and acid rain.
