Compliance with National Pretreatment Program requirements

MSD is required to report to the State Division of Water (DOW) on a semi-annual basis. A semi-annual report is generated using IWIS for fulfillment of the condition of KPDES permits. In addition, the Pretreatment Program is subject to a Pretreatment Compliance Inspection once a year. During this inspection, DOW representatives spot check files, conduct inspections of facilities with Pretreatment Inspectors and make inquiries to ensure the Program is generally fulfilling its requirements. Typically once every five years the DOW and EPA conduct a joint inspection of the Pretreatment Program
