MSD is offering customers online access to information contained in the Industrial Waste Information System (IWIS) via this web page. IWIS is a relational database used by the Industrial Waste Department (IWD) to track information about industrial user customers within Louisville and Jefferson County. The information available on the web page is that typically requested in an Open Records Request (ORR) such as whether a user has an Industrial User Permit and/or a Hazardous Material Spill Prevention and Control Plan (HMPC). In addition, information regarding a users Notice of Violation, Unusual Discharge Request (UDR) and spill history is available. Information in the system can be accessed by company name, address, or by company number within the date range set by the user. Specific reports being offered include: HMPC/Permits Report The permits tracked in the Industrial Waste Information System (IWIS) represent the duration of successive issuances of a particular type of permit. Typical permit durations are 3 to 5 years. A duration represented as longer than 5 years likely represents sucessive permits issued to the same company with no lapse of having a current permit. IWD began using IWIS in 1992. Permit tracking dates may not be accurate prior to that year. Spills/Incidents Report lists spills/incidents which have occurred at a given company or address. MSD Violations Report lists violations for a given company. Unusual Discharge Requests Report lists any UDRs a given company has requested. Should information beyond what is being displayed be needed or for specific requests regarding detailed information on Compliance and/or Quality Charge Testing data, please make a request in writing using MSDs Open Records Request Form and mail it to MSD Records Custodian, 700 West Liberty Street, Louisville, Kentucky, 40203. MSD wants your feedback on this service and any suggestions you may have for improvement. Please send us your comments. Enter Industrial Waste Information System |
