Berrytown Interceptor Sanitary Sewer

Customer Service: (502) 587-0603Report as of Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Project Description

This project involves the construction of gravity sewers along Chenoweth Run, east of Gene Snyder Freeway, near the CSX railroad, English Station Road and the Berrytown area. This interceptor extends from Chenoweth Run Interceptor Section 2 to English Station Road in the Berrytown area. This interceptor discharges to the Chenoweth Run Interceptor Section 2 Project ( Sheet #14 ). A portion of this interceptor is being installed as a part of a Kentucky Department of Transportation relocation project.

Need

This project provides sanitary sewer service to portions of the Chenoweth Run Basin north of I-64 and west of Gene Snyder Freeway. The project will provide sewer service to areas now served by septic tanks and new developments. The project is expected to serve a present population of about 400 and a saturation population of about 9000. The MSD Berrytown Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) will be taken out of service, thus resulting in savings in operation and maintenance costs.

Other Information

This project is part of the Floyds Fork Action Plan proposed to improve sanitary sewer service in the eastern part of Jefferson County known as the Floyds Fork Watershed, a 120-square mile area named for the stream that runs through it.
