The Ellen Swallow Richards Ecology Learning Center (ESRELC) is owned and operated by the Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD). ESRELC offers visitors the following instructional facilities:

  • MSD's Floyds Fork Wastewater Treatment Plant (view map), designed and maintained to be safe and hospitable for student tours
  • Large classroom, with chairs, tables, PC, VCR and projection equipment
  • Amphitheatre, overlooking treatment plant
  • Extended, covered porch
  • Imagination Overlook (overlooking Floyds Fork)
  • Open fields, woods and stream bank
